Product Description
Premium, landscape quality, black (4 oz to 5 oz) (125gsm - 165gsm) woven needle-punched fabric are 30 mils thick and are manufactured from UV resistant polypropylene tapes and needled with PP fibers to give a carpet like effect. They are made from 100% woven polypropylene then the needle punched to aid in permeability and capillary action.
Also called cap fabric or weed barrier fabric which are woven fabric that let air and water to come to the roots. The weed barrier fabrics are environment friendly, long-lasting and effective.
Basically the weeds grow either from seeds, or reproduce from their roots. As the roots grow outward from the parent plant, new plants sprout up from the lateral roots, creating more parent plants and the process continues and the weeds thrive. Plus, the that tend to reproduce from the roots are usually more difficult to control. The best way to rid your garden of weeds is to stop them from growing.
The weed barriers are used to prevent weeds from coming back. They allow the soil to breathe. After spending hours pulling out garden weeds, you can choose a weed barrier to prevent those weeds from coming back.
We supply high quality fabrics which are designed for professional and commercial use, and are approved by leading landscape architects and most government agencies. The weed barriers supplied by us, are permeable, increase growth, conserve soil moisture and prevent unwanted weeds from germinating. The colored stripes located 12 inches apart are made for easy plant alignment.

Superior Strength and VersatilityNeedle Punched Geotextile Fabric stands out for its high tensile strength, resistance to tearing and punctures, and reliable durability. Its design enables use across varied environments, effectively supporting projects ranging from road construction to erosion control. Available in standard and custom sizes, the material provides flexibility to match specific engineering needs.
Exceptional UV and Chemical ResistanceEngineered with advanced stabilization, this geotextile performs in challenging outdoor settings. Its excellent resistance to UV light and degradation, alongside resilience against most chemicals and biological agents, ensures long-lasting utility where environmental exposure is high, minimizing maintenance needs and replacement costs.
Easy Handling and InstallationDesigned for convenience, the fabrics lightweight and soft, needle-punched structure simplifies onsite handling. Its matte, nonwoven finish enables quick cutting, laying, and securing without specialized tools. This efficiency accelerates project timelines and reduces labor efforts during installation.
FAQs of Needle Punched Geotextile Fabric:
Q: What are the primary applications for Needle Punched Geotextile Fabric?
A: Needle Punched Geotextile Fabric is typically used in civil engineering and construction projects such as road construction, drainage systems, soil stabilization, erosion control, and filtration. Its high strength and durability make it ideal for both temporary and permanent installations.
Q: How is the fabric installed at project sites?
A: This geotextile is designed for easy installation. It is unrolled and laid directly onto the prepared surface, then secured as needed using pins or weights. Its flexible, soft structure and customizable sizes make handling, cutting, and placement simple, even over irregular terrain.
Q: What benefits does UV stabilization provide in outdoor applications?
A: The excellent UV stabilization protects the fabric from degrading under direct sunlight, ensuring longevity and structural integrity in outdoor installations. This resistance significantly reduces material deterioration, extending the lifespan and reliability of the geotextile in exposed locations.
Q: When should a project choose a higher weight or density geotextile fabric?
A: A higher weight or density (up to 1200 g/m) is recommended when enhanced puncture resistance, tensile strength, or lower permeability are required, such as in heavy load-bearing subgrades, aggressive terrain, or critical filtration and separation works.
Q: Where can I source Needle Punched Geotextile Fabric in India?
A: This product is available through reputed exporters, manufacturers, and suppliers throughout India. Custom sizes, lengths, and specifications can typically be arranged directly with these providers to suit specific project requirements.
Q: What type of materials are used, and how do they affect performance?
A: The fabric is made from synthetic fiberspolypropylene (PP) or polyester (PET)chosen for their chemical, biological, and UV resistance. The needle-punched nonwoven construction ensures optimal strength, flexibility, and uniform performance in demanding environments.
